Death and Dinner

It's not my normal flair to take my wife to a funeral and then on a date. But things worked out this way, someone had given us a gift card that sat in the bottom of my wife's purse for over a year so we decided to make the most of the afternoon. We had a babysitter in place and so we made our way to the funeral  which was lovely by the way.

We normally don't get a lot of alone time together. So the fact that we could eat a meal without chasing our 3 children around the restaurant or them complaining about the food they ordered or the fact that everyone else there was giving us the death stare because of the noise levels emanating from our table, made dinner for two  very appealing.

The gift card was to Chili's so we decided that would be our eatery of choice and we made our way to a small booth that was very private and just for the two of us.

We've never had a problem carrying conversations or laughing together. I watch a lot of couples and they just sit and eat without ever talking or looking at each other. Not us. We are best buds and so we had a blast talking and laughing, eating, and taking pictures. Some of the pics didn't turn out because I forgot my iPod touch at home and the phone on my camera is sub par, but a few came out okay. Enjoy!
We started off the meal with some chips and salsa. YUMMY!

My lovely wife enjoying the appetizers.

We decided to split some main dishes, so we got the fajitas...

...and some ribs...which were all delish by the way!

We ended the meal with this chocolate behemoth. It doesn't look big
via the picture, but trust me, this sucker was HUGE! We finished it
off and were miserable creatures for a few hours after.

Well, that's a glimpse of date number one. I hope to share more of our adventures with you. This blog is mainly for us to remember all the great times we have together, but thought it might be fun to give you ideas along the way or simply a fun way to connect with us as a couple. Enjoy!
