Book Review: Jesus, My Father

Ian Morgan Cron writes a memoir that is engaging from the first page. He tells the story of his childhood, especially focusing on his relationship with his father, and the ups and downs of living with a drunk. His embattled life while interesting, is both sobering and encouraging. While his father was in the CIA, this was not a major factor in the book for me. It was a story of a son who had to to learn to forgive, to deal with his own demons, and to learn to live his own children.

It is vividly written and one of the best reads of the summer for me. It is a book that will tug at all of your emotional strings. You will not finish the last page and close the book once done without having a trip down your own memory lane. The book as a whole is one terrific group of stories from various aspects of Morgan's life and while you walk the path with him you can't help but feel his life story through the pages. His faith came not from an easy childhood but one in which his struggles drove him to Christ. It's a refreshing read and one I highly recommend!
